After thrashing West Indies in the limited-overs series, its time for the No 1 Test team in the world India to compete against the same oppositions in the longest format of the game. There is certainly no doubt about the fact that India will start as the outright favourites for the series.
However, West Indies cannot be taken lightly either as they have been a good unit n their home conditions off late. They defeated England by a 2-1 margin not long ago and will hope to get past India in atleast one of the Tests. In all likelihood, we should witness a good competitive match.
Test 1: India vs West Indies
Venue: Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, North Sound, Antigua
Date and Time: 22nd August, 7:00 PM
West Indies have some impressive players in their rank. However, there is every possibility that India could well be too good for them. Rahkeem Cornwall who has earned a maiden call-up should be included in the XI as he is a good all-round talent. The batting department looks solid and might test the Indian bowlers.
Jason Holder (c), Kraigg Brathwaite, John Campbell, Shai Hope, Darren Bravo, Roston Chase, Shimron Hetmyer, Shane Dowrich(WK), Jason Holder, Rahkeem Cornwall, Shanon Gabriel, and Kemar Roach.

Team News of India, Expected XI and full squad
There are few selection issues for India. It will be interesting to see whether India prefer to go with Jadeja or Ashwin. Jadeja given his pedigree with both bat and ball in the recent times might just peep Ashwin. Pant should be included in the XI despite the return of Wriddhiman Saha. Pant has already made his mark in the longest format and Saha have to wait to get his chances. Meanwhile, three pacers in all likelihood will be in the playing XI.
Ravichandran Ashwin only due to his line and length and being a wicket to wicket bowler. On the other hand, I would also go with Rishabh Pant and not Wriddhiman Saha. There are three pacers in my XI including the likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammad Shami and Ishant Sharma.
Mayank Agarwal, KL Rahul, Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli (C), Ajinkya Rahane, Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant(WK), Ravindra Jadeja, Jasprit Bumrah, Ishant Sharma and Mohammad Shami.

WI vs IND Dream 11 Combination
Wicketkeepers- Rishabh Pant
Batsmen- Mayank Agarwal, Virat Kohli, Shai Hope, Cheteshwar, Darren Bravo
All-rounders- Ravindra Jadeja, Roston Chase
Bowlers- Mohammad Shami, Jasprit Bumrah, Shanon Gabriel
Virat Kohli- The greatest cricket in this planet at the moment and there is no doubt about the fact that he will hoping to come back strong after scoring his first Test double century in West Indies back in 2016. Since then he has emerged as one of the finest batsmen and has smashed 6 double centuries so far.
Cheteshwar Pujara- He is perhaps the best Test batsmen of this generation. He can occupy the crease for several hours and has the appetite for big runs.
