Kolkata Knight Riders have arrived in Mumbai with the hope for qualification to the playoffs as they will face Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium. The match will be played on May 5. The last league match is scheduled to start at 8:00 PM IST. Before this match, the fans will witness another clash in the afternoon between Kings XI Punjab and Chennai Super Kings. The match between these two teams will start at 4:00 PM in Mohali.
Coming back to MI vs KKR, Mumbai Indians would be fairly relaxed going into this match as they have already secured themselves a playoff spot. With eight wins from 13 matches, they are holding the third spot on the points table and would be desperate to finish in the top two with a win. They won their previous match against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Mumbai via Super Over.
KKR’s road to the playoffs is quite clear after Hyderabad’s loss in their last league match. KKR just have to win the match in Mumbai and it will be enough to see them off to the next round. They have so far won six out of their 13 matches. They are in fact coming to this match after two back to back wins, one of which against Mumbai Indians in Kolkata. KKR had sneaked out with a 34 runs win against MI and later went on to beat KXIP by seven wickets.
