Highveld Lions and Dolphins will close-off the tripleheader Monday when they lock horns at the Senwes Park in Potchefstroom for the second time this season. Highveld Lions are the current table toppers having won 3 matches from 6 games, whereas, Dolphins after only a solitary win to their name are placed at the fifth spot.
After winning their opening game of the tournament, Knights have slumped to three defeats and are in a disarray to finish among the top four. They are left with four more matches in from which they will have to win at least three to make it among the top four.
Highveld Lions, however, are enjoying a merry run this season as they are leading the charts with 3 wins to their name from 6 matches and a solitary loss. Their only loss this season came at the hands of the current second-placed Cape Cobras who registered a nail-biting 5 runs win over them.
The previous battle between Highveld Lions and Dolphins this season took place at the Kingsmead in Durban which is generally tipped as the fastest tracks around the world. The Highveld Lions registered a comfortable 18 runs victory over there courtesy Wiaan Mulder’s all-round effort which saw him scoring 59 from 34 and claiming a wicket by giving away 24 runs from 4 overs.
