The 50th match of IPL 2019 will see Chennai Super Kings squaring off against Delhi Capitals on May 01 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The match will start at 8:00 PM IST. The two teams have had a good season so far and already qualified for the playoffs which will start on May 7. Even though this match is of little importance in the context of the qualifications for the playoffs, the clash is likely to be interesting as the two strongest teams in the competition will take on each other.
Both the teams have previously played one match this season and that was in Delhi earlier this season. CSK had beaten DC by six wickets on that occasion. Since then, Delhi has gone on to win eight of their 12 matches in total and are sitting on the top of the table. CSK is in the second position with eight wins from 12 matches as well. Delhi is ahead due to their better net run rate.
The two sides will surely meet in the playoffs once at least and their primary goal now will be to end the league stages on a high. The first and the second team on the points table after the league round will get two chances to qualify for the final in Hyderabad on May 12, 2019.

CSK vs DC Pitch Report
The pitch in Chennai has played better in the recent few matches. There some concerns with the weather though. Dew could play a part in the later stages of the match. The teams would like to chase a total on this wicket. A score of 170+ could be challenging on this surface.
Rishabh Pant is a worthy choice as MS Dhoni is doubtful. He has scored 343 runs this season with the bat and has taken some brilliant catches.
Shikhar Dhawan has scored more runs than anyone at DC with 451 runs to his name this season. Shreyas Iyer has got 383 runs. Faf du Plessis is one of the CSK batsmen who has looked confident in the last few matches.
Shane Watson got a good knock under his belt a few matches ago on this track in Chennai. Jadeja averages 38 with the bat and has taken nine wickets this season. Axar Patel has eight wickets this season to go with 97 runs down the order.
Kagiso Rabada has taken 25 wickets from 12 matches and is the leading wicket-taker this season. Imran Tahir of CSK has 17 wickets while Deepak Chahar has 15 wickets this season. Sandeep Lamichhane has eight wickets from his six appearances.
