The ICC World Twenty20 World Cup Qualifiers has been in full flow and we are already done and dusted with 26 matches in the tournament so far. In the 29th match of the tournament it will be table toppers, Canada who will lock horns against Hong Kong who is having a relatively tough time in the competition so far and has managed to win a solitary match against Jersey so far.
There is no doubt about the fact that Hong Kong has some impressive players in their ranks but as a team, they haven’t managed to gel together. Canada, on the other hand, has played some fantastic cricket and will look to continue their winning run after a 10 runs victory against favourites Ireland.
Date- 24th October 2019
Venue- Sheikh Zayed Stadium Nursery 1, Abu Dhabi
Canada has looked one of the strongest team in the tournament so far and is yet to lose a match so far. They have played some exceptional cricket and shouldn’t like to change the team combination. Rizwan Cheema, Navneet Dhaliwal and Nitish Kumar have been important performers for Canada. Nitish Kumar has been the leading run-scorer in the tournament with 193 runs in 3 matches at an astonishing average of 93. No updates have been received as far as injury or unavailability of the team is concerned.
Predicted Playing XI
Rizwan Cheema, Navneet Dhaliwal(c), Nitish Kumar, Nicholas Kirton, Ravinderpal Singh, Saad Bin Zafar, Hamza Tariq(w), Dillon Heyliger, Nikhil Dutta, Romesh Eranga, Jeremy Gordon.
There is certainly no doubt about the fact that there is some good talent in the Hong Kong Team. However, they haven’t managed to string in a performance together and have just defeated Jersey in their previous clash. Nizakat Khan scored 30 balls 48 and proved why he is an impressive left-handed batsman. With the ball in hand, Kinchit Shah and Ehsan Khan should be viable picks as they have performed impressively in the previous clash and in their careers.
Predicted Playing XI
Nizakat Khan, Ahsan Abbasi, Kinchit Shah, Aizaz Khan (C), Waqas Barkat, Simandeep Singh, Haroon Arshad Scott McKechnie (WK), Ehsan Khan, Raag Kapur/Nasrulla Rana, Kyle Christie.
For Canada, it has been a dream tournament so far winning all 3 matches so far which included a victory against tournament favourites Ireland. They are leading Group B by a fair margin. On the other hand,
Hong Kong just managed to beat Jersey in the previous clash after losing their first three matches. The form shows that it could be a mismatch but Canada by no means will take Hong Kong lightly.
